The Fullerton Building is a grand neoclassical landmark built-in 1928. What used to be Singapore’s General Post Office, the Exchange Room and Exchange Reference Library, and the prestigious Singapore Club was transformed into a stunning 400-room heritage hotel in Singapore.
I did a stay in May this year and the review can be viewed here.
Checkin-in
The lobby is filled with Christmas festive decorations. Even the bears are wearing festive articles of clothing.
Arrived at 1.30 pm and was ushered to a waiting area where you can sit and fill in your health declaration form.
Previously, everyone will have to fill the form outside of the lobby if you read my previous post, the white tentage is still there to handle the overflow of guests.
I got my room at around 2 pm and considering the number of guests waiting to check-in, I am satisfied with the efficiency of the staff.
Total 5 counters available to handle the guests and can tell that they are overwhelmed. The staffs were so busy till there is another table set up to handle your pools and breakfast etc.
Premier Courtyard Room
Having stayed at Heritage room previously, I decided to try something different when Citibank has a promotion for their Prestige card members to book a one night stay at $170 with $80 dining credits.
I was assigned room number 648 and it was the same stack as the swimming pool, gym and spa.
Into the room on the right side is the toilet. Fullerton always amazes me with its spacious toilet.
Equipped with a TOTO toilet bowl and when approaching, the seat cover will open on its own.
Another side will be the separated shower area, water pressure is decent and attached with hand and rain shower head.
A very spacious bathtub that allows you to roll and flip around without any issue.
The vanity area comes with a single sink and in the drawer is the hairdryer.
Bathroom amenities are from Atkinsons, a brand since 1799 in London.
The wardrobe is on the left when you enter the room, small and compact which is good since I don’t use it much for staycation trips. The bathrobe, ironing board and safe is kept within the wardrobe.
Moving on is the cabinet where on the top is the Nespresso coffee machine together with some snacks, alcohol and hand sanitiser.
All are chargeable except the coffee pods and drinking water excluding Evian drinking water.
Coffee pods and TWG teas are located at one of the drawers. On the side is the water kettle.
Elegant tea cups and wine glasses with wine opener at the rest of the drawers.
Again as my previous stay, I requested a twin sharing room. Hanging on the wall are some heritage drawings of Fullerton.
lighting controls and universal plugs are located in the middle so both sides of the beds will be able to use.
The last part of the room will be the dining table and comes with a working chair and a moveable stool.
My package also includes a roll-away bed for the kids. A trademark which I have seen only at Fullerton hotel whereby along the corridor you can see the bed standing.
Swimming Pool
The swimming is a stunning 25-meter outdoor infinity pool that is set against a backdrop of CBD business building and overlooks the charming Singapore River and the best part will be the warm water even at night.
The pool is operating from 7 am to 10 pm. Pre-booking is required.
A life jacket is required for kids below 12 years old and 1.4m. The reason being is that the pool is 1.2m in depth. However, they didn’t really enforce this policy.
For those that are paranoid about the pool water condition, there is a pool information board that shows you the condition of the pool like pH, Chlorine and Temperature.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Town Restaurant and there are no limits to the number of mains you can order. The breakfast service was quick and effective.
Breadbasket was served once you are seated down. The croissant is quite fluffy and soft.
I also had roti prata which is crispy and chicken curry with spices fragrant.
The kids had pancakes with sugar and maple syrup while we order Laska and scramble eggs.
Summary
The efficiency of the hotel management has increased and the wait to get my room is fast. With the Prestige card booking and dining credits, my stay is considered one of the best bookings I ever made.
Actually, after my first stay in the heritage room, I think the courtyard room will be disappointing but during my stay, I was quite satisfied with this room type and shall there be any more similar promotion, I will definitely book again.
Thank you for sharing your detailed review of the Fullerton Hotel’s Premier Courtyard Room. It’s clear that a lot of thought and attention to detail went into the design and amenities of the room, from the luxurious bedding to the well-stocked minibar. The hotel’s location in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District sounds like a great advantage, with easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. The views of the Marina Bay skyline and the Singapore River from the room’s balcony also sound breathtaking. It’s great to hear that the staff provided attentive and friendly service, adding to the overall positive experience at the Fullerton Hotel. Your review has definitely piqued my interest in visiting the hotel myself someday.
