Back in Dec 2021, GHA revamped its tiers and requalification requirements. What used to be given is Local Discovery and it has since changed to Discovery Dollars.

DISCOVERY Status and qualification

There are 4 different tiers of status under the new program.

As a start, you will be under the Silver tier and as you progress on, it is quite easy to reach Titanium by just staying at 3 different brands of the GHA programme.

What brand to stay

In Singapore, these are the hotels that are under GHA.

In the Singapore context, we have quite limited brands and choices. As per the table above, we can see that the common brands are Parkroyal and Pan Pacific but do these 2 brands consider 1 brand or 2 brands?

There has been quite a lot of discussion on this matter and as I have the datapoint thus I shall share it here.

Under the old programme, Parkroyal and Pan Pacific are considered as 2 different brands to earn Local Discovery but under the new programme, the staff are trained to inform Guests that it is considered as 1 brand.

My Data Point

I did a stay in March under the Pan Pacific brand and in May under the Parkroyal Collection brand. The total brand tracking moved to 2/3 of the brand.

Summary

It can be easy and cheap to qualify for GHA Titanium status. You only need to stay in Parkroyal, Pan Pacific and Capella or Kempinski. Alternative can clock another brand if you travel, the cost will be much lower compared to staycation.
