Basilico, located in the Conrad Orchard Hotel (previously The Regent), offers all-day Italian cuisine from a buffet. The buffet features a Signature Cheese Room with over 50 artisanal cheeses, specialty pizzas, pasta, and a carpaccio bar. Each dish nods to the rich seasonal flavors and Italian conviviality.
I decided to try the à la carte dinner menu instead of the buffet this time.
Here’s my review: I arrived a little early and found a line already formed, but the staff were professional and we were allowed to enter relatively quickly.
Upon arrival at any Italian restaurant, one can always expect to be greeted with a serving of warm, freshly baked bread. Imagine the delight of sinking your teeth into a slice of cherry tomato-infused bread, served just a touch warmer for an even more satisfying experience.
This dish was a masterpiece, with every ingredient perfectly complementing each other. Crafted with 24-month Parma ham, savory salami, aged cheese, and sweet, juicy honeydew, it was an absolute delight.
The Angus beef tenderloin was cooked to a perfect medium rare, yet it could benefit from more seasoning. On the other hand, the Foie Gras was prepared flawlessly.
Indulge in the decadence of Wagyu beef lasagna, layered with rich, savory minced Wagyu beef and creamy cheese bechamel. Experience a unique twist with the surprising combination of funky cheese fondue infused with decadent chocolate.
The risotto alla pugliese had a bit of a raw texture for my taste, but the rice was rich in flavor from the stock. While it’s a decent dish, I found it to be less filling once I finished it.
Who can resist the allure of truffle-infused spaghettoni? The perfectly cooked al dente pasta, combined with a generous portion of crispy pork guanciale, creates a tantalizing dish. Elevate this culinary experience by enhancing the truffle flavour for an unforgettable dining delight.
